Well Here is one of the first bars welded in on the newly widened and stretched frame. It is 57 inch wide by 6ft very roomy. There is nothing worse than being scrunched shoulder to shoulder bouncing your head off the bars. This start of the roll cage was really hard seeing it was my first time using a bender. The second bar is even harder trying to match it perfectly to the first one. Next time I wont even use part of another frame alot easier to built new that to remodel a old one.
Well here is the front end prototype ended up cutting a bunch out and refabbing it to get the clearance i needed for the a-arms it was pretty hard trying to transfer the picture in my head to the real thing.
Here is the re-fab oft he front end had to cut out one bar and add like 3 more for strength
Here is a shot of the beginning of the a-arms i spent alot of time figuring out the geometry of the arms and alot of time at sandlimo they helped me alot and were pretty free with there knowledge. I built all the spindles and mounts from scratch so well see how they hold up when im flogging it through the desert!
Here it is all done. The kids new jungle jim.
Up close of the front end I have 16" of wheel travel in the front not bad!
